The Haunting of Granite Falls

Another piece of Eva Ibbotson fan art! This wasn't originally conceived as a piece for a cover, and as a matter of fact I'm only considering this halfway done (the final version will hopefully have some ghosts chilling out MIXED MEDIA style, afterlife, am I right). But it's the first thing I've painted in my new apartment and I'm domestically BLISSED OUT and I just wanted to rub that in everyone's faces!

Also, my torrid affair with ultramarine blue. Get a room, us.

I can't tell if that font is quirky and fun or just totally terrible. Opine?
